Possible Causes
Failed ignition module, Broken spark electrode, Loose electrode wiring, Moisture on ignition components
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off gas supply at the shutoff valve and disconnect power. Allow any gas smell to dissipate before working.
Steps:
- Dry components: If the cooktop was recently cleaned, moisture may be causing the error. Allow the unit to dry for several hours or use a hair dryer on a low setting around the burners (power disconnected).
- Check electrodes: Remove burner caps and inspect the ceramic spark electrodes for cracks or heavy buildup. Clean gently with a soft brush.
- Inspect wiring: Under the cooktop, check that each electrode wire is firmly connected to the ignition module and not damaged.
- Ignition module: If there is no clicking on any burner when turned on (with power restored), the ignition module is likely faulty and should be replaced.
Warning: After any gas work, check all connections for leaks with a soapy water solution before use.
