Electronic SMEG oven shows F03 and will not start a cooking cycle

Safety first: Disconnect power before removing any panels. Beware of sharp metal edges.

Steps:

• Check door closure: Ensure the door closes fully and evenly. Look for bent hinges or obstructions.
• Inspect latch: Open the door and inspect the latch strike on the door and the lock mechanism in the frame. Adjust or tighten loose screws.
• Access lock assembly: Remove the top panel or front control panel (depending on model) to access the door lock motor and switches.
• Test lock motor: During a self-clean or lock test (if available), observe whether the lock motor attempts to move. If not, test for voltage at the motor when commanded. Replace the lock assembly if it does not operate.
• Check door switch: Use a multimeter to test the door closed switch for continuity when the door is closed. Replace if faulty.

Warning: Do not force the lock mechanism; this can damage the door and frame.
