Possible Causes

Failed convection fan motor, Seized fan due to grease buildup, Broken fan wiring, Faulty relay on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power. Ensure the oven is cool before working inside.

Steps:

  • Check fan rotation: Remove the fan cover inside the oven (rear panel) and try to spin the fan blade by hand. It should rotate freely. Clean any heavy grease or debris.
  • Access motor: Remove the rear panel of the range to access the convection fan motor. Inspect wiring and connectors.
  • Test motor: With a multimeter, check motor winding resistance. If open or shorted, replace the motor.
  • Control relay: If the motor tests good but does not receive power when fan mode is selected, the control board relay may be faulty and the board should be replaced.

Warning: Do not run the oven with the fan obstructed; this can overheat the cavity and damage components.
