Possible Causes
Failed cooling fan motor, Stuck fan relay on control board, Shorted wiring, Faulty temperature sensor controlling fan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before accessing rear panels.
Steps:
- Check fan operation: After a normal cooking cycle, the cooling fan should run then stop when cool. If it never runs or runs constantly, proceed.
- Access fan: Remove the rear panel to access the cavity cooling fan. Inspect for obstructions and spin the fan by hand.
- Test motor: Measure motor resistance and check for supply voltage when the oven is hot (qualified person). Replace the fan motor if it does not run when powered.
- Control board: If the fan runs constantly even when cold, the control board relay may be stuck closed and the board should be replaced.
Warning: Overheating due to a failed cooling fan can damage electronics and surrounding cabinetry.
