Possible Causes
Open (broken) oven temperature sensor, Broken sensor wiring harness, Loose or corroded sensor connector at EOC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing wiring.
Steps to check:
- Access sensor: Remove the rear panel of the range to locate the oven temperature sensor wiring. The sensor is mounted inside the oven at the rear wall.
- Check connections: Ensure the sensor plug is fully seated in the harness connector. Look for burnt or loose pins.
- Test sensor continuity: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance with a multimeter. If the meter reads OL (open) or extremely high resistance, the sensor is bad and must be replaced.
- Inspect harness: If the sensor tests good, check continuity from the sensor connector to the EOC connector. Repair or replace any damaged wiring.
- Replace sensor: Remove the two mounting screws inside the oven, gently pull the sensor into the cavity, swap with the new sensor, and reconnect the harness from the rear.
Note: Always match the replacement sensor to the exact Stoves model number to ensure correct calibration.
