Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker. Capacitors on the control board can retain charge; avoid touching components unnecessarily.
Steps to check:
- Power reset: Turn off the breaker for 10 minutes, then restore power. If F5 returns immediately, suspect the EOC.
- Inspect wiring: Remove the backguard panel and verify all wire harness connectors to the EOC are fully seated and not heat-damaged.
- Check for visible damage: Look for burnt traces, cracked solder joints, or bulging components on the EOC. Any such damage indicates the board should be replaced.
- Replace EOC: Label each wire, then transfer them one by one to the new board. Mount the new control and reassemble the backguard.
Note: If the error appeared after a lightning storm or outage, consider using a surge protector for the range circuit (where code-permitted) or consult an electrician.
