Possible Causes
Wet or contaminated spark electrode, Stuck or shorted spark switch at burner knob, Faulty spark module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off all burners and disconnect power to the range.
Steps to check:
- Dry electrodes: If the issue started after a spill or cleaning, remove burner caps and allow the area to dry completely. Use a fan or gentle heat (no open flame) to speed drying.
- Clean around electrodes: Wipe away residue from around each electrode with a damp cloth, then dry.
- Check knobs and switches: Remove burner knobs and inspect the spark switches on the valve stems. If one is stuck or damaged, it may keep the module energized; replace the faulty switch harness.
- Module replacement: If all switches are good and dry but clicking persists whenever power is applied, the spark module is likely defective and should be replaced.
