Possible Causes

Burned-out bake element, Loose bake element terminals, Failed bake relay on EOC

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before touching any elements or wiring.

Steps to check:

  • Visual inspection: Look at the bake element (bottom of oven) for blisters, cracks, or burn-through spots. Any visible damage means it should be replaced.
  • Check connections: Remove the rear panel and verify the element terminals are tight and not burnt.
  • Test element: Disconnect at least one wire and measure resistance; a typical 240V element reads 15–40 Ω. If open (OL), replace the element.
  • Test EOC output: If the element is good, a technician should test for proper voltage from the EOC to the bake element when bake is selected. No voltage indicates a failed relay or EOC.
