Possible Causes
Open-circuit oven temperature sensor (NTC probe), Broken sensor wiring harness, Loose connector at sensor or control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power to the range before accessing internal components.
Steps:
- Locate the oven sensor: Inside the oven cavity, find the thin metal probe (usually at the rear upper wall). Remove the two mounting screws.
- Check the connector: Gently pull the sensor forward to access the plug. Inspect for loose or burnt terminals. Reseat the connector.
- Test resistance (if you have a multimeter): At room temperature, a typical Tecnogas NTC sensor should read around 1000–1100 Ω at 25°C (check your model’s spec). If the meter shows OL (open) or a very high value, the sensor is faulty.
- Inspect harness to control: From the rear of the range, remove the back panel and trace the sensor wires to the electronic oven control. Ensure the harness is not cut, pinched, or burned.
Replace the sensor if it is open or out of spec. If the sensor and wiring are good but E1 remains, the control board may be defective.
