Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between touch panel and control board, Damaged touch control glass, Failed user interface PCB, Power surge damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the range from mains power before opening the control panel.
Steps:
- Remove control panel trim: Access the back of the display and touch panel by removing the upper rear cover.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Carefully disconnect and reconnect the flat ribbon cable between the user interface and the main control. Ensure it is fully seated and not kinked.
- Check for cracks or moisture: Examine the glass touch panel for cracks, liquid ingress, or corrosion at the connector.
- Power reset: After reseating connections, restore power and test the controls. If E6 returns immediately, the user interface or main control board may be faulty.
Replacing the touch panel or interface board usually resolves persistent E6 errors.
