Possible Causes

Corrupted control board memory, Power surge or brownout, Failed clock circuit on EOC

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before removing the control panel.

Steps:

  • Power cycle: Disconnect power for at least 10 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge. Restore power and attempt to set the clock again.
  • Check supply voltage: Ensure the range is connected to a stable power source with correct voltage (per Tecnogas rating plate). Undervoltage can cause clock errors.
  • Inspect control board: Remove the rear cover and visually inspect the EOC for burnt components or bulging capacitors.

If E8 returns after a proper reset and supply is correct, the control board’s memory or clock circuit is likely damaged and the EOC should be replaced.
