Gas oven will not ignite; no flame and no smell of gas when a bake cycle is started.

Safety first: Turn off electrical power and close the gas supply valve before disassembling. Do not attempt repeated ignition if you smell gas.

Steps:

• Check gas supply: Confirm that other gas burners on the Tecnogas range work. If none work, the main gas supply may be off.
• Observe igniter: With panels in place and gas on, start a bake cycle and look through the oven burner view port. If the igniter does not glow at all, it is likely failed or not receiving power.
• Test igniter: Disconnect power, remove the oven bottom panel, and access the igniter. Inspect for cracks. Test continuity with a multimeter; replace if open.
• Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the igniter to the oven safety valve and control. Repair any burnt or broken wires.

If the igniter glows but the burner never lights, the igniter may be weak or the gas valve faulty; replacing the igniter is usually the first step.
