Possible Causes

Blocked ventilation openings, Overheated power module, Faulty NTC temperature sensor on coil, Cooling fan not running

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Switch off the hob at the mains before any disassembly. Hot components can cause burns; allow the unit to cool fully.

  • Check ventilation: Ensure there is adequate clearance under the hob as per Teka installation manual. Remove any stored items (pans, trays, cloths) from the cabinet beneath that may block airflow.
  • Clean air paths: Inspect and vacuum dust from the cooling fan intake and exhaust slots. Dust buildup can cause overheating.
  • Power reset: Turn off power at the breaker for 10 minutes, then restore and test.
  • Verify fan operation: With power restored and a zone running at medium power, listen for the cooling fan. If the fan does not start or is very noisy, it may be seized or faulty.
  • Internal inspection (advanced): Remove the hob, take off the bottom cover, and check the NTC sensor clipped to the induction coil of the affected zone. Ensure it is firmly attached and its wiring harness is intact and properly connected to the power board.

When to call a technician: Persistent E2 usually indicates a defective NTC sensor, cooling fan, or power module. These parts operate at mains voltage and should be replaced by a professional.
