Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn all burner knobs to OFF and ensure there are no gas odors before working on burners.
- Clean burners: Remove burner grates and caps. Clean caps and burner heads with warm soapy water, ensuring all ports are clear. Dry thoroughly.
- Re-seat caps: Reinstall burner caps so they sit flat and centered on the burner base. Misalignment can prevent proper ignition.
- Check igniter: Inspect the ceramic igniter tip near each burner. It should be clean, not cracked, and positioned close to the burner edge.
- Test spark: Turn a knob to ignite and observe if the igniter sparks. If no spark on any burner, suspect the ignition module or power supply. If only one burner fails, suspect that burner’s igniter or wiring.
If cleaning and aligning do not resolve d1, replace the affected spark igniter electrode. If multiple burners fail to spark, the ignition module may need replacement.
