Possible Causes

Control lock feature enabled, Moisture or spill on touch glass, Defective touch control panel, Loose ribbon cable between UI and main board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: For checks that require removing panels, disconnect power at the breaker before proceeding.

Step-by-step:

  • Check control lock: On many Thermador cooktops, E0 can indicate the controls are locked. Press and hold the Panel Lock or Key symbol for 5–10 seconds until the indicator turns off.
  • Dry the surface: Wipe the entire glass control area with a dry, lint-free cloth. Moisture or a thin film of cleaner can prevent touch recognition.
  • Power reset: Turn the cooktop off at the circuit breaker for 2–3 minutes, then restore power. Try the controls again.
  • Check for stuck keys: If any area of the glass is cracked or feels spongy, the touch sensor may be shorted. Do not continue using the unit.
  • Internal inspection (advanced): With power off, remove the mounting screws and lift the cooktop to access the user interface board. Inspect the ribbon cable between the UI and main power board for corrosion or loose connections. Reseat firmly.

If the E0 condition persists after cleaning, unlocking, and power cycling, the touch control panel or UI board will likely need replacement.
