Possible Causes

Open or shorted induction coil, Broken coil wiring, Loose coil mounting screws affecting sensing, Defective power module output channel

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker and allow the unit to cool before opening.

  • Test other zones: If only one zone shows E7, the fault is localized to that coil/module.
  • Internal inspection (advanced): Remove the cooktop and bottom cover to access the coils.
  • Check coil wiring: Inspect the two or three heavy-gauge wires from the affected coil to the power module. Ensure connectors are tight and not burnt.
  • Inspect coil physically: Look for cracks, burnt spots, or broken windings on the copper coil.
  • Check mounting hardware: Tighten any loose coil mounting screws; poor contact can affect sensing.

If the coil and wiring appear intact but E7 persists, the output channel on the induction power module is likely defective and the module should be replaced along with the coil if any damage is found.
