Possible Causes

Open RTD sensor, Broken sensor wiring, Loose sensor connector at control, Shorted sensor to chassis

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing wiring.

  • Visual check: Inspect the oven temperature sensor inside the cavity for physical damage or loose mounting.
  • Access connector: Remove the rear panel or control panel to reach the sensor connector. Ensure it is fully seated on the control board.
  • Measure resistance: With the sensor disconnected, measure its resistance at room temperature. If it reads open (OL) or near 0 ohms, the sensor is defective.
  • Check harness: If the sensor tests good, check continuity of the harness from the sensor to the control board.

Replace the oven temperature sensor if it is out of specification. If the sensor and wiring are good but F3 persists, the electronic oven control board is likely faulty.
