Possible Causes

Door lock not reaching locked position, Failed lock motor, Defective lock switch, Misaligned latch or strike

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before accessing the lock mechanism.

  • Check door alignment: Ensure the door closes evenly and the latch engages smoothly.
  • Attempt to lock/unlock: Start a self-clean cycle and listen for the lock motor. If it hums but does not fully move, the mechanism may be jammed.
  • Lubricate lightly: With power off, apply a small amount of high-temperature-safe lubricant to the latch pivot points (avoid over-lubrication).
  • Inspect lock assembly: Access the lock motor and switches from the top or rear. Check for bent linkage, broken plastic parts, or loose wiring.

If the lock motor does not operate or the switches do not change state, replace the door lock assembly. If the lock works but F9 persists, the control board may not be reading the lock status correctly and may require replacement.
