Possible Causes
Shorted touchpad on control panel, Failed electronic oven control board, Moisture or grease contamination on keypad ribbon, Loose or oxidized control harness connections
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the range OFF at the breaker and allow it to sit for at least 5 minutes before touching any wiring. Do not work on the unit while it is energized.
- Power reset: Switch the range off at the household breaker for 5–10 minutes, then restore power. If F1 returns immediately, the fault is likely permanent.
- Inspect control panel: Remove the backguard/rear panel screws to access the electronic oven control (EOC) and keypad ribbon cable. Look for signs of moisture, grease, or corrosion on the ribbon connector.
- Reseat ribbon cable: Gently unplug the keypad ribbon from the EOC, wipe the contacts with a dry, lint‑free cloth, and reconnect firmly.
- Check for stuck keys: With power restored, press each keypad button individually. If the code reappears when a specific key is pressed, the touchpad is shorted.
- Replace parts as needed: If F1 persists after cleaning and reseating, replace the control panel touchpad assembly or the electronic oven control board as a matched set according to the Thor Kitchen parts diagram for your model.
