Possible Causes
Failed door lock motor assembly, Broken or jammed lock latch, Faulty door lock switch, Wiring issue between lock and control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker. Do not force the door open if it is locked; you may bend the latch.
- Allow cooling: If F9 occurred during or after self-clean, wait until the oven is completely cool; the lock will not release while hot.
- Access lock assembly: Remove the top panel or rear panel (depending on model) to access the door lock motor and latch mechanism.
- Inspect for binding: Check that the latch moves freely by hand with power off. Clean any grease or debris and ensure the linkage is not bent.
- Test lock motor and switches: Use a multimeter to check continuity of the lock motor and associated micro-switches. Replace the door lock motor assembly if the motor is open or the switches do not change state when the latch moves.
- Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the lock assembly to the EOC for damage or loose connectors. Repair as needed.
