How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn all burner knobs to OFF. If clicking continues, unplug the range or switch off the breaker to stop sparking.
- Dry the switches: If a spill occurred, remove burner knobs and allow the area to dry for several hours. You can use a fan to speed drying; do not use direct heat.
- Inspect switches: With power disconnected, remove the top panel to access the burner valve switches. Look for corrosion or moisture on the switch contacts.
- Test switches: Use a multimeter to check each switch for continuity only when the knob is turned to Lite. Replace the ignition switch harness if any switch shows continuity when OFF.
- Check igniters: Ensure igniters are not cracked and are properly grounded to the burner base.
