One gas burner will not ignite but others work normally; you hear clicking but no flame.

Possible Causes
Clogged burner head or ports, Misaligned burner cap, Cracked or contaminated igniter electrode, Restricted gas orifice for that burner
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the burner OFF and allow all parts to cool before handling. Shut off gas if you will be disassembling burner components.
- Check burner cap: Remove and reseat the burner cap so it sits flat and centered on the burner base.
- Clean burner ports: Remove the burner head and clean the gas ports with a soft brush or wooden toothpick. Do not enlarge the holes.
- Clean igniter: Wipe the igniter tip with a cotton swab and isopropyl alcohol to remove grease or residue. Ensure the ceramic insulator is not cracked.
- Check spark position: Verify the igniter tip is close enough to the burner edge (typically 1/8–3/16 inch). Gently adjust if bent.
- Inspect orifice: If the burner still will not light but gas flow seems weak, remove the burner and check the brass orifice for blockage. Clean carefully or replace the burner orifice if damaged.
