Possible Causes
Hob installed above oven without proper insulation, Poor ventilation in cabinet, Prolonged high-power operation, Cooling fan partially blocked
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the hob and allow it to cool for at least 30 minutes.
User checks:
- Ensure that the oven below (if V-ZUG or other brand) is correctly installed with the required insulation and ventilation as per both appliances' manuals.
- Do not operate the hob at maximum power on all zones for extended periods if the cabinet ventilation is marginal.
- Check that drawers or panels under the hob are not pressing against the underside, blocking airflow.
If E1 recurs frequently even with correct installation, a technician should inspect the cooling fan and temperature sensors on the electronics.
