Possible Causes

Blocked cooling air vents, Failed cooling fan, Overheated induction power module, Poor installation with insufficient ventilation clearance

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Switch off the hob and allow it to cool for at least 30 minutes. Do not cover ventilation openings.

User checks:

  • Ensure that the hob's ventilation slots (front, sides, or underneath depending on model) are not blocked by drawers, pans, or liners.
  • Remove any items stored directly under the hob that may obstruct airflow to the cooling fan.
  • Check that the kitchen worktop cut-out and cabinet follow the V-ZUG installation clearances in the user manual.

Technical checks (qualified person only):

  • Disconnect power at the breaker.
  • Remove the hob and inspect the cooling fan for dust buildup, seized bearings, or broken blades. Clean with compressed air and a soft brush.
  • Verify that the fan runs when the hob is powered and a zone is used at high power; if not, test the fan supply voltage from the power module.
  • Check the NTC temperature sensors on the heat sink of the induction module for correct resistance values according to V-ZUG service data.
  • If the fan and sensors are OK but F2 persists, replace the induction power module.
