Possible Causes
Open-circuit induction coil, Burnt IGBT or power transistor on module, Loose coil connector, Damaged wiring harness between coil and power module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the appliance from mains before removing it from the worktop. High voltages are present on the power module even after switching off.
Diagnostic steps (technician recommended):
- Remove the hob and access the underside.
- Visually inspect the induction coil for burn marks, cracks, or detached windings.
- Check the coil connector and wiring for discoloration or signs of overheating.
- Measure the resistance of the coil with a multimeter; an open circuit indicates a failed coil.
- Inspect the induction power module for blown components, bulged capacitors, or burnt tracks.
Repair:
- If the coil is open or physically damaged, replace the induction coil assembly for that zone.
- If the coil is OK but the module shows damage or F3 persists, replace the induction power module corresponding to the faulty zone.
- Reassemble, ensure all connectors are firmly seated, and test all zones.
