Possible Causes
Normal magnetostriction noise amplified by cookware, Thin or multi-layer pan base, Loose mounting of induction coil, Resonance in cabinet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
User guidance:
- Try a different pan with a thicker, high-quality base; noise often depends on cookware.
- Reduce the power level slightly; noise usually decreases at lower settings.
- Ensure the pan is centered and sits flat on the glass.
Technical checks (if noise is excessive or new):
- Disconnect power and remove the hob.
- Inspect the mounting screws and springs holding the induction coils to the glass; tighten to the specified torque.
- Add or replace damping pads if provided by V-ZUG for noise reduction.
Some level of humming is normal for induction hobs and is not a fault if performance is otherwise correct.
