Electric radiant cooktop element cycles on and off too quickly, never reaching full heat

Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing internal components.

• Try different cookware: Use a flat-bottomed pan that fully covers the element. Poor contact can cause premature cycling.
• Observe cycling: If the element cycles off almost immediately even with proper cookware, the limiter may be faulty.
• Replace element: On many Whirlpool models, the limiter is integrated into the element. Replace the entire radiant element assembly.
• Check control: If a new element behaves the same, the infinite switch or electronic control may be misreading temperature and should be replaced.
