Possible Causes

Shorted keypad membrane, moisture intrusion into control panel, damaged ribbon cable, failed control panel assembly

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before removing the control panel.

  • Power reset and dry out: If the panel was recently cleaned or exposed to steam, turn off power for several hours to allow moisture to evaporate. Restore power and test.
  • Inspect keypad ribbon: Remove the back cover of the control panel. Reseat the flat ribbon cable from the keypad to the control board. Clean contacts gently with isopropyl alcohol if corroded.
  • Keypad isolation test: Disconnect the keypad ribbon from the control, restore power briefly. If F7 appears with keypad disconnected, the control board is faulty. If F7 disappears, the keypad is faulty.
  • Replace faulty part: Replace the keypad/touch control panel assembly or the EOC as indicated by the test. Transfer any brackets and reinstall the panel.
