How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No internal repair is needed for this condition.
- Unlock controls: Press and hold the designated Control Lock or Lock button for 3–5 seconds (refer to the control panel markings). On some Whirlpool models, press and hold Start or Cancel for several seconds.
- Power reset: If the lock will not clear, turn off power at the breaker for 1 minute, then restore and try again.
- Check buttons: If the lock icon will not clear and buttons do not respond, the keypad or touch control may be faulty and require replacement.
