Ignition failure at surface burner
Gas cooktop burner will not ignite, clicking sound present but no flame

Possible Causes
Clogged burner ports, misaligned burner cap, weak spark at electrode, failed spark module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off all burner knobs and ensure the area is well ventilated. Avoid open flames while troubleshooting.
- Check burner cap: Ensure the burner cap is properly seated and centered on the base.
- Clean burner ports: Remove the burner cap and head. Clean the ports with a soft brush or a wooden toothpick (never metal) to remove debris.
- Inspect electrode: Verify the igniter electrode is clean and not cracked. Clean with a soft brush and ensure the gap to the burner is correct.
- Test spark: Turn the knob to ignite and observe the spark. If other burners spark strongly but this one does not, replace the electrode or burner head. If none spark well, the spark module may need replacement.
