Possible Causes
Failed spark module, defective ignition switch on burner valve, no power to cooktop, broken igniter wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and shut off gas before accessing internal components.
- Verify power: Ensure the cooktop or range is plugged in and the outlet has power.
- Check other burners: If none of the burners click, suspect the spark module or power supply. If only one burner fails, suspect its switch or wiring.
- Inspect switches: Access the burner valve switches under the cooktop. Test continuity of the switch when the knob is turned to ignite. Replace faulty switches.
- Replace spark module: If switches are good and there is power but no spark, replace the Whirlpool spark module.
