Gas oven lights but temperature is too low or uneven, food undercooked

Safety first: Disconnect power and turn off gas if removing burner components.

• Verify temperature: Place an oven thermometer in the center of the oven and run a 350°F bake cycle. Compare the reading after 20–30 minutes to the set temperature.
• Adjust calibration: Many Whirlpool ranges allow temperature calibration in the settings menu (e.g., +/- 30°F). Adjust according to the user manual if the difference is consistent.
• Inspect sensor: If temperature swings widely or is inconsistent, test the oven sensor resistance at room temperature (~1080 Ω). Replace if out of spec.
• Clean burner: Remove and clean the bake burner ports with a soft brush to ensure even flame distribution.
