Possible Causes
Partially failed bake element, open convection element, faulty temperature sensor, door not sealing properly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before testing components.
- Check elements: Observe the bake and broil elements during preheat; both should glow red on many Whirlpool models. Test for continuity and replace any weak or open elements.
- Sensor test: Measure oven sensor resistance at room temperature (~1080 Ω). Replace if out of range.
- Door seal: Inspect the door gasket and hinges for gaps that could let heat escape. Replace worn parts.
- Verify voltage: Ensure the range is receiving full 240V; low voltage can cause slow heating.
