Possible Causes
Shorted oven temperature sensor, Stuck closed bake or broil relay on control board, Poor airflow around oven cavity or blocked vents
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the range and shut off power at the breaker. Allow the oven to cool fully.
- Check oven loading and vents: Ensure no foil is covering the oven floor, racks, or vents. Remove any items blocking airflow at the rear or bottom of the cavity.
- Test the temperature sensor: Access the oven temperature sensor as described for E01. Measure resistance at room temperature; if it is significantly lower than 1000 Ω or shows erratic readings when gently warmed, replace the sensor.
- Inspect control board: With power off, remove the back panel to access the electronic oven control. Look for signs of heat damage or burned relay contacts. If the oven continues to heat with the control off or overshoots temperature after sensor replacement, the control board relays may be stuck and the board should be replaced.
- Reset and test: Restore power, clear the code by cycling the breaker, then run the oven at a moderate temperature (e.g., 350°F) and monitor. If E02 recurs, contact a Wolf-authorized service technician for control replacement and calibration.
