Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between touch panel and control board, Corroded or contaminated connector, Failed user interface (UI) board, Failed main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before removing any control panel components.
- Access control panel: Remove the knobs and front bezel or upper trim (model dependent) to access the touch panel and control board.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Locate the flat ribbon cable between the UI and main control. Gently disconnect and inspect for corrosion, bent pins, or contamination. Clean contacts with electronic contact cleaner and reseat firmly.
- Check for moisture: Look for signs of liquid intrusion behind the panel (from cleaning sprays or spills). Allow the area to dry completely; avoid spraying cleaners directly on the panel in the future.
- Reassemble and test: Restore power and see if the error clears. If E06 returns, either the UI board or main control is defective. Replacement typically requires a Wolf-trained technician to correctly program and install the board.
