Possible Causes
Failed cooling fan motor, Obstructed fan blades, Faulty fan relay on control board, Broken or loose fan wiring harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and allow the oven to cool completely.
- Identify the fan: Wolf ranges may have a cooling fan (above or behind the oven cavity) and a convection fan (inside the rear wall). Determine which fan is not operating based on the noise and error timing.
- Check for obstructions: For the convection fan, remove the oven racks and rear fan cover. Inspect for loose screws, foil, or debris contacting the blades. Remove obstructions and ensure the fan spins freely by hand.
- Inspect wiring: Access the rear of the range and locate the fan motor wiring. Check for loose connectors or damaged insulation. Reseat connectors.
- Test the motor: With power disconnected, measure resistance across the fan motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor that must be replaced.
- Control board check: If the motor and wiring are good, the fan relay on the control board may not be energizing. This requires board replacement by a professional.
