Possible Causes

Weak or cracked hot surface igniter, No gas supply to oven safety valve, Failed oven gas valve, Faulty ignition circuit on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off gas at the shutoff valve behind the range and disconnect power at the breaker. Allow the oven to cool.

  • Verify gas supply: Confirm other gas burners on the range operate normally. If none work, there may be a supply issue that must be addressed by a gas utility or licensed plumber.
  • Inspect oven igniter: Remove the oven bottom panel to expose the bake burner and igniter. Look for cracks in the igniter or white residue. A weak igniter may glow but not draw enough current to open the gas valve.
  • Test igniter current: With a clamp meter and proper training, measure igniter current draw when energized (typically 3.2–3.6 A for many Wolf hot surface igniters). If below spec, replace the igniter.
  • Check wiring and valve: Inspect wiring from the igniter to the gas valve and control board. If the igniter is good but no gas flows, the oven gas valve may be defective and should be replaced by a qualified technician.
  • Reassemble and test: Restore gas and power, then test bake. If E10 persists, the control board ignition circuit may be faulty.
