Possible Causes

Blocked cooling vents, Failed cooling fan, Overheating power module, Inadequate clearance under cooktop

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the cooktop and allow it to cool. Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing internal components.

  • Check ventilation: Ensure there is proper clearance under the countertop per Wolf installation specs. Remove any items stored directly under the cooktop that may block airflow.
  • Clean vents: Inspect and clean any intake or exhaust vents on the cooktop or in the cabinet. Use a vacuum with a brush attachment to remove dust.
  • Inspect cooling fan: With the underside panel removed (power off), locate the cooling fan. Check that it spins freely and is not obstructed. Look for loose wiring.
  • Fan test: Restore power briefly and run the cooktop at low power while observing the fan (keep hands clear). If the fan does not run, replace the cooling fan assembly.
  • Module evaluation: If ventilation and fan are good but E13 recurs, the power module may be overheating internally and should be replaced by a professional.
