Possible Causes

Failed low-voltage transformer, Blown internal fuse on control board, Shorted light or accessory circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing internal wiring.

  • Check internal fuses: Remove the rear or top panel to access the control board. Look for small glass or ceramic fuses. Test continuity and replace any blown fuses with the exact type and rating.
  • Inspect for shorts: If a fuse is blown, inspect oven light sockets, wiring, and any accessory circuits for pinched or burned wires that may have caused the short.
  • Transformer test: If equipped, test the low-voltage transformer output with a multimeter (with power on, only if you are trained and comfortable working around live circuits). If there is no output, replace the transformer.
  • Control board replacement: If fuses and transformer are good but E16 persists, the control board may have an internal power supply failure and should be replaced.
