Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the range OFF at the control panel and switch off the circuit breaker or unplug the unit before removing any panels.
- Power reset: Turn power off for 5 minutes, then restore. If F1 returns immediately, the fault is likely in the keypad or control board.
- Inspect control panel: Remove the backguard or front control panel cover (depending on model). Check the keypad ribbon cable going into the electronic oven control (EOC) for corrosion, grease, or moisture. Reseat the ribbon firmly.
- Clean contamination: If you see grease or moisture on the keypad area, gently clean around the edges with a slightly damp cloth (power OFF) and allow to dry completely before restoring power.
- Isolate keypad vs board: If possible, disconnect the keypad ribbon from the EOC, restore power briefly. If F1 persists with keypad disconnected, the EOC is faulty. If F1 disappears, the keypad/touch panel is faulty.
- Replace faulty part: Replace the front touch control panel or the electronic oven control board as indicated. Transfer wires one at a time to the new board to avoid miswiring.
When to call a technician: If you are not comfortable removing the control panel or working around live wiring, have a qualified technician replace the EOC or keypad assembly.
