Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker or unplug the range before removing any panels.
- Locate the sensor: Inside the oven cavity, find the temperature sensor rod on the rear wall. Remove the mounting screws and gently pull the sensor forward to access the connector.
- Check connection: Inspect the plug connection behind the sensor. Make sure it is fully seated and not burnt or corroded. Reseat the connector.
- Test continuity: With the sensor unplugged and power OFF, use a multimeter to check resistance across the sensor leads. An open (infinite) reading indicates a failed sensor.
- Inspect harness: From the rear of the range, follow the sensor wires to the control board. Look for pinched, burnt, or broken insulation. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
- Replace sensor if needed: If the sensor is open or far out of spec, install a new Zline-compatible oven temperature sensor and secure it with the original screws.
When to call a technician: If wiring damage extends into the main harness or you are unsure how to test resistance, have a technician complete the diagnosis and repair.
