Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before removing the control panel.
- Dry out moisture: If the error appeared after a spill or heavy cleaning, leave power off and allow the control panel area to dry for several hours. Do not use heat guns or hair dryers directly on the panel.
- Inspect keypad ribbon: Remove the control panel cover and locate the flat ribbon cable from the keypad to the control board. Reseat the cable and ensure it is not torn or kinked.
- Check for stuck buttons: From the front, press each button individually. If any button feels stuck or does not click, the keypad membrane is likely damaged.
- Replace keypad assembly: If F7 persists after drying and reseating, replace the front touchpad/control panel assembly. Transfer any trim or brackets from the old panel to the new one.
When to call a technician: If your model integrates the keypad and control board into a single assembly, replacement can be more complex and may be best handled by a technician.
