Possible Causes

Failed oven cooling fan motor, Blocked cooling air vents, Faulty fan relay on control board, Overheating of control area due to poor installation clearance

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool completely before accessing internal components.

  • Check installation clearance: Verify that the Zline range has the required clearance around the back and sides. Remove any items blocking the rear vent or control panel area.
  • Listen for fan operation: When the oven is on (before the error appears), listen for the cooling fan behind the control panel. If it is not running, the fan motor or relay may be faulty.
  • Inspect fan area: Remove the rear panel to access the cooling fan. Check for obstructions (insulation, wiring) preventing the fan from turning. Spin the fan blade by hand; it should move freely.
  • Test fan motor: With power disconnected, check the fan motor windings for continuity. An open motor must be replaced. If the motor is good but never receives power, the control board fan relay may be defective.
  • Clean vents: Vacuum dust and debris from the fan intake and exhaust vents to improve airflow.

When to call a technician: If the fan motor tests good but the control board is not energizing it, a technician should replace or repair the control board.
