Possible Causes
Clogged burner cap or ports, Misaligned burner cap, Weak or failed spark igniter, No gas supply to burner valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn all burner knobs to OFF. If you smell gas, do not ignite any flame; ventilate the area and shut off the gas supply.
- Check gas supply: Confirm the main gas shutoff valve to the Zline range is open. If other gas appliances work but the range does not, the range's gas shutoff may be closed.
- Clean and align burner: Remove the burner grate and cap. Clean the burner head and ports with a soft brush or needle to remove food debris. Reinstall the burner cap, ensuring it is centered and seated flat.
- Observe spark: Turn the knob to ignite and watch for a strong blue-white spark at the igniter tip. If there is no spark or it is weak, the igniter or spark module may be faulty.
- Dry igniter: If the burner was recently cleaned, moisture may be on the igniter. Allow it to air dry or gently dry with a paper towel (power off).
When to call a technician: If the burner still will not light after cleaning and you have confirmed gas supply, a technician should test and replace the spark igniter or spark module.
