Possible Causes
Shorted meat probe jack, Debris or moisture in probe receptacle, Faulty probe detection circuit on control board, Damaged probe cable (if connected)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before cleaning or inspecting the probe jack.
- Remove probe: If a probe is connected, unplug it and inspect the tip and plug for damage or corrosion. Wipe clean and dry thoroughly.
- Clean jack: Gently clean the probe receptacle inside the oven with a dry cotton swab to remove grease or moisture. Do not use excessive liquid.
- Power reset: Restore power and check if the PROBE indication clears. Try starting the oven without the probe.
- Test with known-good probe: If available, test with a new or known-good Zline-compatible probe. If the error persists, the jack or control board may be faulty.
When to call a technician: Replacement of the probe jack or control board requires access behind the oven wall and should be done by a professional.
