How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the evaporator area.

Steps:

  • Remove drawers and the rear inner panel in the freezer to expose the evaporator.
  • Locate the evaporator sensor clipped to the coil or nearby bracket.
  • Inspect for damage or corrosion and test resistance with a multimeter. Replace if readings are out of range.
  • Check wiring from the sensor to the control board for damage and reseat connectors.

After repair: Reassemble, restore power, and monitor for normal operation. If AL05 persists, the main control board may require replacement.
