Possible Causes
Door left open or not sealing, Recent large warm food load, Failed evaporator fan, Refrigerant leak or sealed system fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Immediate actions:
- Check that all doors are fully closed and that gaskets are clean and undamaged. Remove any items preventing proper closure.
- Ensure the appliance has not just been loaded with large quantities of warm food; if so, allow 12–24 hours to stabilize.
- Verify that the temperature settings are correct (not set to a warm mode or holiday mode).
Fan and airflow:
- Open the freezer and listen for the evaporator fan when the compressor is running. If silent, the fan may be faulty or iced over.
- If there is heavy frost on the rear panel, perform a full manual defrost with the unit unplugged and doors open.
When to call a professional: If H1 persists despite good door seals, correct settings, and a working fan, there may be a sealed system issue (refrigerant leak, blocked capillary, weak compressor) that requires a licensed refrigeration technician.
