Possible Causes
Clogged water filter, Frozen water line in door, Faulty dispenser switch, Failed water inlet valve (dispenser side)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Shut off water supply and unplug the refrigerator before disconnecting water lines.
- Replace water filter: Install a new OEM filter and flush several gallons through if possible.
- Check for frozen line: If the freezer is very cold, the water line in the door may freeze. Lower freezer temperature slightly and leave the door open for a short period to thaw (protect food).
- Test dispenser switch: Remove the dispenser cover and test the switch for continuity when pressed. Replace if open.
- Test inlet valve: Using a multimeter, check the dispenser solenoid coil for proper resistance. Replace the valve if open or if it does not open when energized.
