Door Switch / Door Sensor Fault
Display shows dO or door icon; alarm sounds even when door appears closed

Possible Causes
Faulty magnetic reed switch or mechanical door switch, Misaligned door or weak door magnet, Broken wires in door switch circuit, Faulty main control board input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before accessing switch wiring or removing trims.
How to fix:
- 1. Check door closure: Ensure nothing is obstructing the door. Inspect gaskets for deformation that might prevent full closure.
- 2. Locate the door switch: It may be a plunger switch in the cabinet frame or a hidden magnetic sensor behind the liner. For plunger types, press it by hand and see if the interior light turns off.
- 3. Test the switch: With power off, remove the switch (usually clipped in) and test continuity with a multimeter while pressing and releasing it. Replace if it does not change state reliably.
- 4. Magnetic sensor models: If there is no visible switch, the sensor is behind the liner and the door has a magnet. Check that the magnet strip in the gasket is intact and not damaged. A missing or weak magnet can prevent detection.
- 5. Wiring and board: If the switch tests good, inspect wiring back to the control board for breaks. If wiring is intact, the board input may be faulty and require professional replacement.
Tip: As a temporary measure, you can usually silence the alarm via the control panel, but do not ignore a real open-door condition as it will spoil food.
