Possible Causes
Faulty ice maker sensor or switch, Disconnected harness between ice module and main board, Jammed ice maker mechanism, Defective ice maker assembly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the refrigerator and shut off the water supply before working on the ice maker or dispenser.
Steps:
- 1. Reset the ice maker: Some Amica models have a reset button on the ice maker module. With power on, press and hold according to the user manual. If E7 returns, continue.
- 2. Inspect for jams: Remove the ice bin and check for clumped ice, foreign objects, or ice bridging that prevents the ejector from turning. Clear any obstructions.
- 3. Check wiring: Unplug the unit. Remove the ice maker cover and verify that all connectors are firmly seated and wires are not pinched or broken.
- 4. Test switches/sensors: If accessible, test the ice level sensor or bail arm switch for continuity with a multimeter. Replace if open when actuated.
- 5. Replace ice maker assembly: If the mechanism is seized, motor does not run, or sensors are faulty, replace the complete ice maker assembly with a compatible Amica part.
- 6. Control board: If a new ice maker does not clear E7, the main control board may have a communication fault and should be evaluated by a professional.
Note: After any repair, allow 24 hours for normal ice production to resume.
